Plan-it-x fest has always been and will always be a BENEFIT EVENT.
The goal of PIX FEST is to get a bunch of cool people together and have fun, but it is also and equally, to raise money. I think it’s great that we can have a fun event for a fair price (less than $1 per band) and raise thousands of dollars for charities.
Last year (2011) we raised $10,000!
Where will your money go this year? Well, the touring bands will be paid $200 each with an option of taking less (some bands took less last year).
There will be some expenses, like tickets, maps-schedule, wristbands, posters… but not very much. Last year we spent around $350.00 on that kind of stuff.
The rest of the money will go to a few different benefits: Rhino’s all ages club and or their Youth Media Program and some will go to the Midwest Pages To Prisoners Program and the majority of the $ will go to the Middle Way House.
The staff is 100% volunteer, at the most, they might get some food one day or maybe an after fest dinner party. They work hard for free.
I’d also like to add that this fest is not sponsored by anyone, except the punks that come. There will be no banners/posters/ads anywhere! NO GODS, NO SPONSERS!
